Bridging to phpBB2.0.22 - after logging in, goes to parent directory.

I Bridged coppermine to phpBB2.0.22, seemingly works, someone registers with php it shows up in coppermine.

My problem is, when anyone logs into Coppermine, it takes them to my parent directory.

Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../phpBB2/ 
Use post-based groups?:  0 
Cookie prefix:  phpbb2mysql

This is a server setup issue, not related to Coppermine. Create a file named .htaccess in the Coppermine folder containing this code

Okay, sounds easy enough.  But, what kind of file is it?  Sorry still new at programming.
