CPG 1.4.10/IPB 2.2.2
« on: April 02, 2007, 01:16:25 am »

I was trying to use bridge to integrate the two. Everything seems to setup fine, but I can't get back to my cpg, and I have to go back and disable integration. WHen I enable integration, I'm taken to my IPB login page whenever I try to go to my cpg installation I am not logged in. And ofcourse when I try to login, it just starts all over.

I didn't see an edit option, but I know that re-directing to the forum is normal, but shouldn't I be logged in when I get back to coppermine?

Sorry for the multiple replies, but for some reason you can't edit posts. Anyway I have to temporarily access my cpg via a sub-domain while I try to get phpfox running

Read the sticky thread that Sami refered to and do exactly as suggested there if you want help.

By using subdomain current cookie setting wont work
your authentication cookie for forum is for forum.swacfans.com and cpg need an authentication cookie for coppermine.swacfans.com
Either correct your cookie setting or don't use SubDomain

I only used the subdomain momentarily I'm still have the issue whether I use it or not.

I have the following issue when trying to bridge coppermine and XXX:
[error message here]

Coppermine install: http://swacfans.com/coppermine
Forum install: http://swacfans.com/forums/
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.10
Forum version: IPB 2.2.2
Test user account: dummy member / password: dummy

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://swacfans.com/forums
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../forums/
Use post-based groups?:  tried both 0 and 1
Cookie name/preifx: forums

ok now? There is the info. I don't guess IPBs cookie strong-hold setting would have an affect. Seems more like a CPG issue but who knows

IPB2 bridge does not support a cookie prefix. Set it to blank in IPB.

I totally forgot I had that set. I don't even remember when or why I set it. OFcourse this was before 2 came out. I must have had my forum and a test forum setup at same time or sometime. I didn't even remember it until bridge instructions set something about cpg and ipbs cookie settings needing to be different. But anyway took it out and still having the same problem.

I think I figured it out. I don't know where else IPB 2.2.2 saves settings, but when I change them from ACP they still remain the same in config_global.php. Once I changed the php file to match the same thing I have setup in settings in ACP it seems to work. This is not the first time I've noticed this.

BY the way how do I set it up if I do want to use

forums.swacfans.com
and
coppermine.swacfans.com

because this phpfox script is throwing everything off.

You'd need the forum's cookie domain to be .swacfans.com - remember to clear your cookies whenever you change them.

yeah that's what I was about to try. Guess I'm about to have the same problem though. I'm gonna have to change the settings in ACP and the file seperately. Don't know wsup with that

I set it, but I only seemed to be logged in when I go to swacfans.com/coppermine and not coppermine.swacfans.com. As a matter of fact I Seem to stay logged in as my admin even when logged in as dummy member on my forum. This is after clearing my cookies and cache.
