Installer won't run (super noob)

I uploaded all my files, set all my 777 permissions and created my DB however when I go to "http://www.mysite.net/cpg1410/install.php" all I get is the entire install.php file in text format.  What did I do wrong?  Thanks much and sorry for the typical noob questions.

Is your webserver PHP-enabled, i.e. do you have the minimum requirements?

Operator error, I never used php with this site.  You hit it right on, I never checked off enable php in the setup.  Just got everything up and running.
