Just upgraded from 1.3 to 1.4.10 - can't stop public access

I just upgraded from 136 (i think) to 1410 but now I can't stop guests from viewing the photos.  ???

I have it bridged with SMF 1.1.1 and for some reason I seem to miss a button under "groups". The add group button isn't there. How do I stop users that aren't logged in/registered from viewing my photos?  ::)
