Cannot access 'install.php' - fatal error.
« on: November 26, 2006, 05:18:13 am »

Hello all.
Yes, my first post after failing to be able to install Gallery2....  Here we come, Coppermine! :-)

Here's what I've done so far;

-uploaded cpg1.4.10.zip to my webserver and unzipped it.

-changed permissions on 'include' and 'albums' folder to 666
(permissions on my root coppermine folder (CM) are 755 - http://www.re-rentacrowd.com/Coppermine/CM/install.php)

-directed my browser to; http://www.re-rentacrowd.com/Coppermine/CM/install.php
   ...and received this:-

Warning: main(include/sql_parse.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /mounted-storage/home16a/sub002/sc18297-SNVA/www/Coppermine/CM/install.php on line 36

Warning: main(include/sql_parse.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /mounted-storage/home16a/sub002/sc18297-SNVA/www/Coppermine/CM/install.php on line 36

Warning: main(include/sql_parse.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /mounted-storage/home16a/sub002/sc18297-SNVA/www/Coppermine/CM/install.php on line 36

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'include/sql_parse.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /mounted-storage/home16a/sub002/sc18297-SNVA/www/Coppermine/CM/install.php on line 36

Here is a link to phpinfo.php: - http://www.re-rentacrowd.com/Coppermine/phpinfo.php

Can anybody please assist me as to what the problem is?

 Thanks, and Cheers!

PS - how do I upload an avatar - I can't see it under profile settings?

Thanks.

Permission on those folder should be 755 or 777 you need write permission on those folders

Thanks again, Sami.

BTW, 666 is 'write' - you mean those folders have to have 'execute' permissions.  Perhaps the install guide should mention that.

Cheers.

You're right, Sami.

I was reading this one: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/faq.htm#MinimumRequirements
under 'what are the steps....'

Unfortunately, my web host has given me the incorrect path to ImageMagick, so now I have to wait for that info.
I hope it all works ok.

Cheers.
