crop and rotate menu
« on: November 09, 2006, 07:31:17 pm »

Is there a way to allow all users to be able to crop and rotate any image? Or is there a way i can allow a registered user to crop and rotate any image (maybe in a specific album). Please help.

I'm no authority on Coppermine, but I don't see how that could be done. Even the admin can't edit an actual photo, other than the file information. You're talking about opening a photo editor within Coppermine to do something like that.

The admin can crop and rotate pics. Regular users can only do so with pics they own (i.e. pics they uploaded). No hack existing to allow users to rotate any pic.

i that case, is it possible to change album ownership to a certain registered user? for instance, if i upload the pics as admin, can i then change the ownership of this album to registered user "joe" so that he can edit files?

Ownership goes by individual file/pic, not by album. There's no control built into Coppermine's user interface to allow you to edit/change ownership of files - you'd have to do so directly in your database (i.e. using phpMyAdmin). Not recommended.

gotcha. so no way around this, ha? No way to grant anyone ability to crop every image and save as a different name to keep the original as is?

No. That's what I've been trying to say. Sorry for not being clearer in previous postings.
