What does it look like when it's right?
« on: October 12, 2006, 05:55:35 am »

I'm not posting any "details" because mine are not technical questions. I have Coppermine installed and running fine.

I attempted to set up the bridge between 1.49 and PHPBB 2.19. All that occurred is that any attempt to login in to coppermine took me directly to my forum index and auto logged me in as the admin. I saw absolutely nothing anywhere to indicate that Coppermine even existed on the board or in the Admin area. I tried again with no errors with the same result. I disabled the bridge.

Similar problems appear to be VERY frequent here with the bridging. I'm not sure I'll try it as a result. I have no idea of what the advantages might be vs. standalone.

So my questions are simply....

What's supposed to happen when a bridge with PHPBB 2.19 is successful?
How is Coppermine accessed in the forum? Are there links? Where would they be?
Does it open in a new window? Load into a forum? A post?

Really appreciate your help.

The bridge is for sharing users (single sign-on) only , that doesn't give you any visual advantage or any custom link after bridging you need to put custom link in each app to other

Thanks Sami

So all the bridge does is automatically register the members of the board to the gallery? Nothing about the Gallery appears in the forum anywhere unless I place a link in the forum to access the gallery. And just the normal gallery interface appears.

One mystery remains, what would be the path of that link be since after logging in to the forum (or the gallery) any attempt to go to the gallery using www.thescentreview.com/gallery simply brings you (me at least) directly back to the forum?

The forum is at www.thescentreview.com/board
The gallery is at wwwthescentreview.com/gallery
Relative path to your BBS's config file: ../board/
Use post-based groups?: 0
Cookie prefix:    thesboar_phpbb   (this matches the board)
Cookie domain .thescentreview.com

On the forum at www.thescentreview.com/board you can use

USER: hagar
PASSWORD: horrible

And I screwed up the link to the gallery. Here's a live one

www.thescentreview.com/gallery

I've enabled the bridge.

Bridging does not modify your forum in any way. Visual integration is the easy part compared to sharing users and authentication.
