Bridging Coppermine 1.4.9 and phpBB 2.0.21...
« on: October 07, 2006, 07:13:11 pm »

I have the following issue when trying to bridge Coppermine 1.4.9 to phpBB 2.0.21:

The bridging between Coppermine 1.4.9 and phpBB 2.0.21 is not working.  Browser cookies have been cleared yet it didn't make any difference.  The Coppermine cookie name is identical to the phpBB cooke name..

Coppermine install: http://www.callum-blue.co.uk/forum_gallery

The Coppermine cookie name is identical to the phpBB cooke name..

I'm not sure what you mean by that.

What did you put as the cookie name in the bridge manager? It should be phpbbmysql

The cookie name in the Bridge wizard is phpbb2mysql, just like the cookie name for the phpBB forum.  Should it be something else???

Everything seems to be set correctly. Can you enable debug mode?

As far as I can tell, there is a problem with your forum's usergroups table. The cookie is being read and it recognises who I am but it can't determine what group I am in. Have you made any modifications to phpbb that could have affected this?

AFAIK, the User Groups table has not been altered.  The last time we had a problem on another site, I had created an admin record with the User ID of 1 so that I could work on the site.  But I had failed to create a User Group record.  I think you were able to log into the Gallery though even though I wasn't...

This time, I once again have an user record with the User ID set to 1 but I also created a User Group record for it.  Is it possible that my User ID=1 would affect both of us?  I wouldn't think so, but you know the code better than I do...

Take a look at the table. There should be an entry that corresponds to each user in the forum.

Ok, I may have repeated the earlier mistake when I created your Test account.  There was no User Group record for it.  So I added a User Group record to match the Test account and changed my User ID to 2 in both the User Group and User tables.  I'm still not logged in when going from the forum to the Gallery though.  You might have better luck now that the Test account has a corresponding User Group record...

Edit:  I discovered that was logged out of the forum when I wrote the above message.  After logging in, the Bridge seems to be working correctly.  So apparently, I just can't use the User ID=1 when bridging to the Gallery, even if I have created the corresponding User Group record.  This problem seems to be resolved now...

Thanks again for all of your help Nibbler.  As before, you have been extremely helpful and patient...
