bridge manager ?
« on: September 21, 2006, 01:56:32 am »

Edit:

Please let me know if I have not posted the required info. It seems to me this should be a simple question to answer for someone in the know.

Maybe Icould just ask this first. If my forum is installed in this location
http://www.therockpile.zeeblo.com/smf

and the coppermine is located here
http://www.therockpile.zeeblo.com/smf/coppermine

What is the relative path I need to enter into the bridge manager?

I assume the url to the forum is
 http://www.therockpile.zeeblo.com/smf
------------------------------------------------------------------------
having problems with url and relative path. I have smf1.1rc3 with tp 0.9.5 running great.
coppermine is installed and now to the bridge.

What do I put in the fields for the relative path and url with my forum the way it is

I realize now that thre may be problems with where I installed things. They were put there long before I planned on adding coppermine. Smf is in its own folder in the root  and the cpg 1.4.9 folder is in that.Permissins are set to 777 in the 2 folders

public_html/smf/coppermine

Maybe it cannot be installed with things the way they are. I don't know.

site url

Thank you for that info. Never in my wildest dreams would I have figured that is what it would be. Even now I am still a little bewildered, but think I understand.

Without generating any bad karma, might I suggest that the developers give more than the optimum scenario with regard to the relative path. The one in the bridge manager[and help file] helps people who have that exact[optimum] config. There is nothing to compare it to. Many people  have a sight that was set up before deciding to use coppermine and it is a less than optimum setup.Having just one more config to compare the differences, would help tremendously. The more the merrier I say.....I don't think there can be too many

Like:

if you have your bbs  here and coppermine here, this  is the relative path ../board/
but if you have your bbs here and coppermine here, the relative path would be this ../

Given that information, I could see where things were installed and why the relative path was different.

It's all relative I guess

Coppermine looks great and I look forward to using it. Thanks to all who had anything to do with it.You are to be congratulated.

Thanks again Sami ;)

Target audience for Coppermine are people who know the basics of maintaining their website. We expect that people know what a relative path is, since it's a very basic thing.
