Guess I’m posting the same old question that you’ve seen dozens of times… sorry, but I just cannot come seem to up with the answer on my own.
Thanks for any help… Ken

While trying to bridge Coppermine  to my SMF 1.1 RC3   ‘test forum’ the relative path error keeps coming up, I’ve been trying all kinds of entry combinations for several days and reading up here on the Coppermine forums, but so far it’s still no go:

[../Test Forum/Settings.php doesn't exist. Correct the value you entered for Relative path to your BBS's config file]

Coppermine install: http://www.mykimbrell.com/Test Forum/SMF 1.1 RC3/Coppermine/Gallery/album/index.php
Forum install: http://www.mykimbrell.com/Test Forum/SMF 1.1 RC3/index.php
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.9 (stable)
Forum version: SMF 1.1 RC3
Test user account: testuser / urtester

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://www.mykimbrell.com/Test Forum/SMF 1.1 RC3/index.php
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../Test Forum/
Use post-based groups?:  5
VERSION INFO :
------------------
PHP version: 4.4.4 - OK
------------------
mySQL version: 4.0.27-standard-log
------------------
Coppermine version: 1.4.9(stable)

Don't use spaces in directory names. The relative path for the way you have it setup is ../../../

Is not related to your issue, but it's advisable not to use a sub-folder of your forum to install coppermine in. The paths you have set up are hard to memorize anyway (and shouldn't contain spaces nor capitalization as Nibbler suggested). I'd rather install your forum into http://www.mykimbrell.com/forum/ and your coppermine gallery into http://www.mykimbrell.com/gallery/

You are right GauGau... and so is Nibbler.
This is all being done on a 'test' MySQL db so that the install of the forum, Coppermine and anything else can be worked on without fear of trashing my live forum... and I am for sure making some mistakes as I try to learn how to do this stuff.  ::)

So, with fresh installs of SMF 1.1 RC3 & Coppermine and leaving out all the sub-folders as mentioned by GauGau the bridging was easy, the only issue was the use of capitalization, but that worked out OK... from now on I will leave those off as well.

Now I need to start trying to learn how to put a link button on the forum navigation bar of the forum.
Thanks Nibbler & GauGau… you guys are the best… Ken  ;D
