Videos, Audio, Etc not playing...

 ??? I just upgraded to 1.4.9 - from 1.4.8 - none of my videos play nor audio. Mainly WMV files. They don't play on other sites either, and a friend of mine can't get them to play now also. I noticed that the windows media look has changed since then... What was changed?
