I'm about to do a long overdue upgrade from 1.3.2 to 1.4.x.
And I have a bridge to phpBB at the moment.
And in the Coppermine Photo Gallery v1.4.8: Documentation and Manual it says;
http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#13
Quote
The bridging method has changed from cpg1.3.x to cpg1.4.x. When upgrading, your bridged coppermine install will be unbridged - you will have to re-apply the bridging using the bridge-manager (using your standalone admin account you initially used to set up coppermine). You will not lose anything though, don't worry.

Wich is very clear to me.
But the thing is I don't want the forum and the coppermine to be bridged at all anymore.
How should I go about it then? Should I just do nothing and the upgrade takes care of it?

I appologize if this is a "obvious" thing.

Yes you can safely upgrade , if you don't enable the briged then you will lose the users from phpbb .

Thank you for a quick answer.
Just qurious about one thing more in the text info;
Quote
Backup your include/config.inc.php file, your anycontent.php file and your "albums" directoy.

Except for the "albums" directory, upload all of the new files and directories making sure not to overwrite the include/config.inc.php file, your anycontent.php file or the albums directory.
Ok. Backing it up goes without saying really, but the upload bit.
Can't I just not delete the config.inc.php, anycontent.php and albums directory in the 1.4.x. that Ive downloaded, then delete everything BUT those 3 in the 1.3.2 folder and then copy/paste the 1.4.x into the "old" folder?

As in (doing my own info. instructions here;

If you are goin to upgrade to 1.4.x you then should delete following files in the new version folder;
include/config.inc.php file
anycontent.php
"albums" directory
install.php

Then upload the rest of the files and run the file "update.php" in the coppermine directory.
I get a bit confused that it says I should upload those files on top of my "old" ones...
Is it not "safer" just to remove those files I won't need right from the start after Ive downloaded the update?

English is not my first language, so sometimes I get "lost" in "the meanings" of instructions.

The point is you need to have your old
- album Folder
- include/config.inc.php file
- anycontent.php file
on your gallery so , if you want to delete anycontent.php and album folder from new package and then overwrite the rest to your old CPG  it's okey (there is no include/config.inc.php , cpg will create it on install prosecc ) but always have backup of those
you can do it on your way , it's okey
