Auto Install Problems...
« on: August 02, 2006, 09:28:43 pm »

I'm using my webhosts auto-install feature (Fantastico) to install CPG 1.4.2, simply because I have trouble installing it manually... what can I say, I'm a dumbass...?!

Anyway, Installing the board goes according to plan until I visit the gallery and instead of an index page, all I get is a white screen with the words "Fatal Error: " at the top. No other information is listed at all, and I have no idea how to fix it, lol. Can anyone offer any ideas?

Many thanks in advance. ^_~

Try http://coppermine-gallery.net/tutorial/debug_mode.php

This is why auto installers are not recomended by the dev team.

You won't be able to run it anyway, as it's outdated (cpg1.4.2) and needs updating as soon as you have managed to get it up and running. Should be pretty easy to install from scratch instead (most recent stable is cpg1.4.8). Read the docs and the newbie tutorial.
Don't use Fantastico, it sucks!

Okay, checked out the tutorial and I don't appear to have the facilities to use that method, so... I'm gonna just bit e the bullet and try it manually... if I have any major probs, I'll be calling on you guys again! ^_~

Thanks for your help! ^_^

If it's already installed, it's pretty easy to upgrade. Replace the files and run the update.php script. There are more details in the docs.
