Installation completed, but can't get into login
« on: January 27, 2004, 01:51:02 am »

I didn't see anyone else having troule with this in the first five pages, so here goes.  Forgive me if it's on page 6.

First, all requirements are exceeded as far as MySQL, PHP, server/system etc. but with GD-Lib 1.6.

I THINK I have the define silly_safe_mode added in the proper doc in the proper place, as per the instructions...

So.  The mess started while attempting a new installation, not knowing that a previous version was on the server and still had active tables in SQL.  While installing, I kept getting error messages that "table so-and-so already exists."

Ok, so I ran the upgrade script...Hunky dory up to this point, but then there was nothing else to upgrade FROM.

So, I run the install again, after deleting the previous tables in SQL...

Sweet!  We're in bidness now!

Click the button, and I get this page:

Installation completed
Coppermine is now properly configured and ready to roll.

Login using the information you provided for your admin account.

Your server supports the following image package(s): GD Library version 1.x (gd1), the installer selected 'gd1'.

Important : the GD graphic library supports only JPEG and PNG images. The script will not be able to create thumbnails for GIF images. If you want the script to create thumbnails for GIF images, you need to use ImageMagick.

Right on!  It's up!

OR IS IT?????

When I click the "Let's Continue!" button, the "Coppermine" (links to the index) or the "Login" (links to the login)  I get THIS fun little tidbit:

Quote
Fatal error :
There was an error while processing a database query

I have successfully CHMOD'ed the dirs and files that the instructions told me to, I think I've removed the proper files that the instructions have told me too...I"ve made the necessary changes in the Bridge file to integrate with phpBB2 (that's not at issue here, if I have trouble with that I"ll read around for those)

I know this is vague info to go on, but perhaps can steer someone to a different question...

Make the modifications to the bridge file and add Silly_Safe_Mode after you have established CPG is up and running. (You do not need the Silly Safe Mode constant at all if your safe mode is set up correctly.)

Clear the tables/files out and try again.

Also, please warn before placing links to adult sites.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Ten minutes later, while reviewing what to dump and what to re-up according to your recommendation, I noticed that I DID NOT have the SQL named properly in the bridge file.

I'm in, I'm configuring, just need to figure out a couple of other things that should probably be just as self-explanatory.

If you hadn't have given the point to the bridge file, I would never have looked at it...

Problem solved (until next time I put something in the wrong place)!!

Thank you!!
