Hi there,
I have the following issue when trying to bridge coppermine and Phorum :

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'phorum/common.php' (include_path='/var/www/free.fr/e/1/julien.cestac/include:.') in /var/www/free.fr/e/1/julien.cestac/bridge/phorum.inc.php on line 34

Coppermine install: http://julien.cestac.free.fr/
Forum install: http://julien.cestac.free.fr/phorum
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.8
Forum version: phorum-5.1.14
Test user account: ?

BridgeManager settings: ?
Forum URL: ?
Relative path to your BBS's config file: ?
Use post-based groups?:  ?

I am a very beginer with php and coppermine. I created my family gallery wich was working fine. I tried to add a forum ... Maybe too much ambitious for me !
I followed the instructions for the activation of plugins : fatal error !
I then followed instructions from cpg documentations (5.3.2 Recover from failed bridging), but this don't work for me, i can access to a main page with menus like if i was logged in, but i am never asked for username or password, neither can i click on the "configuration" button in order to desactivate the phorum bridge.

Any help welcome, even things you think obvious like : "did you switch on your pc ?"  ;)
Thank you.

Why don't you do as suggested and post a test user account? We ask for it for good reasons.

Joachim

P.S. There's a French support board as well in case you feel more familiar posting in your first language

Hello, thanks for answering. I don't know how to create a test user account considering that i can only access to the main page and to the php files via ftp.
I posted in the english support board because i thought that more people could help me there, i also thought that my english wasn't so bad ...
Thanks again for your help.
Au revoir.

Well, you have your phorum running, don't you? You have to create the test user account there - it doesn't matter that you can't access coppermine.

No, phorum is not running, as you can see : http://julien.cestac.free.fr/phorum

Then get that working first - Coppermine can't bridge to a broken forum.

Before i tried to install phorum, my gallery was runing fine. Never mind the "phorum", i would just want my coppermine gallery working like before, i will install a forum later, when i will be an expert in webmastering !
Is it possible to desactivate the "phorum" bridge without having a functional forum ?
Thanks for your time.

Does the recovery system not work? Enter your coppermine admin details.

Hello, the main problem for me is SOLVED ! I replaced the entire "bridge" folder with the original one, as well for the db_ecard and db_input files. After this, the recovery system worked, prompted me for my username and password and i could desactivate the bridge.
I still don't know where was my mistake in the "phorum" installation and/or the bridge activation, but i'll wait for a greater expertise till my next try ...
Thanks to Gaugau and Nibbler for their help, and to Frantz from the french support board who gave me the answer i was looking for.
Au revoir.
Julien.

Thanks for returning and resolving your thread. For future reference, this is the above-mentioned thread on the French Support board jutax has refered to: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=33815.0
The fact that replacing files on your server with fresh ones cured the issues you had indicates that something is fishy with your install. To solve potential future issues I recommend re-uploading a fresh copy of the coppermine package and uploading it to your server (in fact doing as recommended in the docs when performing an update).
