Help with moving to new server
« on: June 08, 2006, 06:01:39 am »

Hello,
First of all, I did search for this topic and followed the instructions on how to move CPG to the new web hosting but it is not sucessful.  So, I need help here for more advise.  I cannot make a dump or backup my SQL database from the old web hosting and the tech support is not helpful at all.  So, I did ftp the whole coppermine directory from the old web hosting to my HD.  My new web host has Cpanel and I did install the CPG and upgrade it to the newest version by running update.php without any problem.  Then, I uploaded the albums folder from my HD to the new hosting.  I did not make change include/config.inc.php since the information in there is correct.  Now, when I go to the website, I see brand new picture gallery with nothing in there.  Can someone please let me know if I'm missing any steps or I did anything wrong?  You help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
CP

The gallery info is in the database. If you can't get the dump, you'll have to start over. There are a couple of options for doing mass uploads of files in the albums folder.

I still can get to the old web hosting site.  Is there any way that I can do to get them moved over?  I don't want to redo them again.  It's a lot of works.

Thanks.

Use a db tool like phpMyAdmin on your old server to get a dump of database.
