how do i remove or hide the rating section

I don't want the pictures rated, just viewed, can I get rid of the rating icons and buttons, do I just remove bits from the PHP ??

Try going to "User Group Settings" then turning off Rating for all groups. that should work

And if you need to clear the ratings, just click the album properties.
At the bottom you can reset the ratings.
