Coppermine critical error:Unable to connect to database !
« on: May 24, 2006, 11:39:42 am »

My gallery was just fine until I upgraded, I didnt do a manuay back up because my fantastico said it would do it itself...

My fantastico says this:

Initializing Parameters - Done.
Warning: file(/home/x14ccen/public_html/gallery/backup.sql): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /tmp/cpanel_phpengine.1148461628.197959130.94468255626 on line 1123

Upgrade failed

The database is not working properly and the creation of a database backup file has failed. Please contact the sysadmin for further assistance. Include this message for reference.

The initial installation has not been modified.

And my gallery says:
Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !

MySQL said: Unknown MySQL Server Host '' (1)

What do I use to fix this problem...And do I need to manually make a database, How do I go about that?

Fantastico is buggy and outdated. Update as suggested in our docs.

"what if" doesn't apply. Do you have cpg1.4.6 or not?

If you have a problem with fantastico then seek support from your host.

You appear to have cpg1.3.4  ::)

As Nibbler suggested: to perform an actual upgrade, do as suggested in the docs. If you can't do that, hire someone to do this for you, or contact your webhost for support. We can't support third-party apps. Cpanel/Fantastico are clearly third-party apps.
