hey all
we are now in our brand new server and i'm trying to restore my huge gallery
i have made a sql backup file before this of course
today i have restored my database, put all gallery's files to right places, changed the config file with my new db information.
the db, where my old coppermine is, of course.
seems everything must have been ok, but it's not.
when trying to reach the gallery, it writes "FATAL ERROR: " on the index and anything more.
what should i do? chomd smth or..? heh ;p
should i believe i'll recieve any help from you, people? =)

on your old server you ran CPG 1.3?? And now you've uploaded 1.4? I hope in addition to the SQL backup you've saved your albums dir as well?

especially the part with .... Run the file "update.php" in the coppermine directory once in your browser

Next time please don't use 'italics' and such gimmicks, makes it hard to read

Post a link to your site. To turn on the debug you will need to access your database via phpmyadmin or any other database tool. Go to config table and change "debug_mode" 's value to 1. This might show the error on index page.

ok, its my fault a little bit

first of all i uploaded ALL the OLD files [old version, even not know whichXD, old files, old themes, old albums directory] and then restored the old sql file and created new db user.
then changed the config file and thats it.
tadaam - fatal erorr.

XD now i'm trying to change version to 1.4.5, hope it helps. thanx  

to abbas: ok i'll try to change that value, but what the purpose on it? the gallery will born again and work? heh. hopes ;]

italics is my style. if its hard for you to read, i suggest you to delete italics icon from this forum :]
and i can't do anything ally suggested now. ;[

Italics won't get removed, as they're helpful to highlight certain passages of a longer text. Using italics for your entire posting is silly though, as it makes reading your posting harder. After all you're looking for free support, so you should make it as easy as possible for the supporters, or they won't look into your issues if you don't.

italics is my style.

I don't care for your individual style, you're free to use it on your site. On this board, you respect our board rules or you won't get answers .

i havent seen there any warn that italics is forbidden or what bb codes to use in my own posts.

It's not a forum rule; it's a general writing guideline. Things like italics, bold, underline, red font, all caps, etc, are meant to be used for emphasis. They stand out in plain text. When you talk, you stress certain words to make an emphasis. Now imagine using the same stress on ALL words. It doesn't make sense.

And even if you were clueless about the guideline, you could have still respected supporters' wishes for you to stop using italics.
