I am looking for a hack for v1.4x of CM that allows me to show all my galleries (including the sub-categories) on the mail page. This should include a thumbnail image as well. I do not need this for the user galleries, just the galleries that the admin sets up.

I used to have this on my 1.3x coppermine, but when I upgraded, it went away.

The current look of my gallery at http://wwgallery.pcinfoman.com is too freaking boring. I show the current submissions, but I want to show all my galleries at one time.

answered that here... http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=30786.0;topicseen
in addition you can apply a thumb to a category and not only show the first level albums
read http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#cat_cp

My setting for " Show first level album thumbnails in categories" is set to "yes", but it is not showing on my site.

Let me re-prhase my question. When I select a main category on my site, it brings me to a page that shows all the sub-categores and the thumbnails for each album under it (eg. http://wwgallery.pcinfoman.com/index.php?cat=7) . I want that display on the main page for each category.

yes, cause your albums are in sub cats. Have first level albums or check the 2nd link (lead images for cats)

What 2nd link are you referring too? I do not see anything that says "lead images for cats"

Are not the thumbnail image for acategory picked from the images that are in that category? Does not really matter this is not the real problem I am facing.

I am still looking for a way to display my albums on the main page.

no hack needed, coppermine will do what you're trying to accomplish out of the box, just read the docs as Stramm suggested and apply the needed settings on coppermine's config page.
If you think you need a hack that hasn't been posted so far, it's usually the best idea to code it yourself or hire someone to code it for you.

Odd, you told me in the thread at http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=30619.msg142482#msg142482 that this is NOT a feature of CP and I need a hack to do this.

What gives?

you haven't said on this thread that you're trying to accomplish this for personal (user) galleries. User galleries are treated differently than all the other galleries. So my reply is correct for regular public categories. For user galleries, the feature indeed doesn't exist. Why did you start a separate thread?
