cannot stop CPG from redirecting to subdomain
« on: April 17, 2006, 08:05:41 am »

I have my real domain multi-hosted.  It is sub.domain.com, but if you go to www.domain2.com it technically points to the multi-hosted subdomain of sub.domain.com.  If you go to domain2.com it keeps going to sub.domain.com in the url even though I have changed the Config to be http://www.domain2.com.  Is it stores somewhere else that would be causing this?  I have deleted all cookies, history, etc.

post actual URLs instead of dummy placeholders.

have a look at your DNS server (usually BIND, name aliases of the DNS zone domain2) or talk to someone who administers your DNS (respective your server)

htaccess is another possibility (or similar entries in apache conf)

Thank you for the useful reply Stramm.  I have checked my htaccess files and there is nothing.  I have not contacted my host yet, because the root multi-hosted domain works fine.  It is just domain2.com/gallery that forces itself to sub.domain.com/gallery.  So, it seems to make sense that it would be specific to CPG.  Any other thoughts?

A link would help. Coppermine uses only relative links and the url from config so I don't see how Coppermine is the issue.

Just to confirm the config, I attached a screenshot.

Link to your gallery using the trailing slash (http://www.thebooger.com/gallery/), include index.php in the link or try adding some code to your .htaccess to redirect. Not a Coppermine issue but related to domain setup.

Huh.  I have the same setup on other multi-hosted domains.  (example:  vipnights.com -> vip.eliterides.com using gallery vipnights.com/gallery)

I'll do the htaccess route.  I'd be interested in any other thoughts that may come up though just out of curiousity sake.

Thanks

Hm, you remove information from your postings but you still would like others to make up their mind on your issues... ::)
