Where To Change Chmod

Hey there,

I'm sure this question has been asked like a hundred times before-but I searched the memories and couldn't really find what I was looking for so I'm just gonna ask again...
Okay so I wanna batch add some files and my friend told me to change the chmod for that...I know what it is and why I've got to change it-but I've got absolutely no idea where to change that... ???

help please???
