Adding 'Gallery' Button which opens coppermine gallery within forum?

Hi there,
I have been looking into this for a few days now and have just really confused myself.

I have:
SMF 1.1 RC2 (default theme, others removed)
Tinyportal 0.8.6
Coppermine photogallery 1.4.4 (bridged with SMF)

What I want to do is add a new button the menu 'gallery' which will open up the gallery within the forum page (I have seen this done several times, I think they reffer to it as iframe).

I just cant get my head round all the different posts regarding this.
I could quite easily make a button and hard code the link but what is the best way to do this.
I'm sure other sites I've seen using this method have ????index.php?action=gallery or what ever the correct cal is.

Any help really appreciated
