e107 user database which i need to be used with coppermine
« on: March 12, 2006, 07:03:44 pm »

I just re-designed my site and have grew really big so i have a really heavy user database now.

I have been using an intergrated version of coppermine before to manage my photogallery
what i need to do is use that same user database that e107 was using for usernames / passwords is there a way that i can link this coppermine to use the old sql database that e107 made up?

right now my coppermine doesn't use a database i dont think because it doesn't ask for login / passwords  with e107 but e107 does have it's own database. im sure i can figure out what part the passwords and usernames are stored by looking in mysql app.

is there any information on making a bridge file custom for linking the users up?

there's no documentation on how to write bridge files. Take a look at the existing bridge files to come up with one for e107

isnt bridge is for when you want to keep using the CMS and use coppermine at the same time?

im trying to do away with it
and just keep the user database but dont want to have the people have to re-register again for the new site

so basically i guess im looking for a way to import my users from e107 into coppermines database

any way to do this??

bridging doesn't mean "importing", as this import would have to repeated every time a user register on the app you bridge coppermine with. Instead, bridging means that coppermine's user management is being dropped in favour of the other app's user management.
