After a clean install of ver. 1.4.3 on a Unix server I'm only getting blank pages after leaving the "install is complete go to login page". I can run update.php, but other than that I get blank pages.
I have set the permissions for each of the files on my server; I've manually deleted all cookies and refreshed my cache; I've downloaded Opera to see if IE is the problem, but it didn't fix the problem.
I have not altered any of the php files and I can not find anything in the documentation, or in any of the websites that tell me I need to. I've deleted the lock file and reinstalled the files three times and each time everything goes along without a hitch and I click on login and nothing but a blank page.
The config file has the correct information for username, etc. I've spend 13 hours today trying to find a soltuion to this and I'm baffled. I've just downloaded the 1.4.4 version and will delete all 1.4.3 files tomorrow and install 1.4.4, but I'm hoping to get a jump on this issue as it is certainly something I have not complete. I even used the "quick start" on one install and still couldn't get to the login.
I appreciate any guidance you can give me.

Please post a link to your gallery directly and use cpg1.4.4 (you should always use the most recent stable version). Did you make sure to use a "real" FTP client (instead of some crap like MS Front Page) and if yes, what FTP mode did you use? Try "auto" - if this fails, try "ascii".

Thanks, GauGau. I deleted the old 1.4.3 files and did a clean install of the new version and it was up and running out of the box (so to speak). I do use a real ftp client for my file transfers. I still don;t know why it didn't work and now, I don't care.
