IPB 2.0.1 bridging
« on: March 06, 2006, 07:15:25 pm »

I have the following issue when trying to bridge coppermine and IPB 2.0.1:

Bridge Manager: emergency recovery
If you came here to administer the BBS integration of your Coppermine gallery, you have to log in first as admin. If you can not log in because bridging doesn't work as expected, you can disable BBS integration with this page. Entering your username and password will not log you in, it will only disable BBS integration. Refer to the documentation for details.
Username
Password

(i have it running in stand alone, as all user info is not being pulled or its simply bridged incorrectly.)

and user panel going all wierd... some crossover action.

Coppermine install: http://ragingalliance.com/gallery/
Forum install: http://ragingalliance.com
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.2
Forum version: IPB 2.0.1
Test user account: test / testt

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://ragingalliance.com/index.php?act=idx
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../ (its in root)
Use post-based groups?:  if possible i'd like to, but i'd rather have it working period :)

** it seems to link back to my site but i cant get it to work!

here is cookie info (not sure if this helps) but i get a feeling this is the problem.

for copper:
 - cookiename: cpg143
 - cookiepath: /

for site:
 - Cookie Domain:
 - Cookie Name Prefix:
 - cookiepath:

Gallery link does not work, test account does not work. BBS url should be a normal url, ie http://ragingalliance.com/. The post based groups feature is explained in the bridging documentation that you are following.

the documentation Nibbler refered to comes with coppermine (docs folder) and is available online as well (link at top of this page). The test user account needs to be created within your bbs, no coppermine magic involved - you should be able to create a working test user account if your bbs is working.

ok so i created my test account:

[]

but i still have the same problem of being able to login to the boards, but when i try to login to the gallery, it simply denies the existance of my poor cookies :(
i set the default path of the cookies on my boards to "/" just like the manual says, however no change. the boards link back and forth, but simply wont recognize the login process. or rather the fact it was done. any other ideas?

ok i must be completely retarded or something. i cleared my cookies tried it on 3 diffrent machines, cleared their cookies too and it still wont let me login to the gallery. it links back and forth like its supposed to, but trying any of my users accounts wont work. this is very frustrating.

i go to the main site. login. go to the gallery. says i need to login. so i login again. go to the gallery etc etc its a loop ya know?

help!

You have set your cookie prefix to 'test'. You must remove that as cookie prefixes are not supported by the ipb bridge.
