well, then check the mysql data you entered into the form, you can't make them up. Make sure that none of your mysql entries contain a dot! Are you by chance self-hosted?

There is no dot:

MySQL Host                                          mysql1
(localhost is usually OK)   

MySQL Database Name                           phost11269
 
MySQL Username                                   phost11269

MySQL Password                                    password

MySQL table prefix                                 cpg143_
(default value is OK; do not use dots!)

The settings don't mean anything to me, I can't tell if they're valid or not. It's up to you to find out. Try localhost. If this fails, ask your webhost for support.
