Am I missing something?
I can upload to the albums in admin mode.
But users are getting this error:

Sorry there is no album where you are allowed to upload files

log in as admin, stay in admin mode (all the time). Next to the thumbnail that represents an album, there's a button named "properties". Please read the docs, this is explained there.

not very surprisingly, don't you agree ;)? If you want your users to upload to other albums, do the same things to those albums as well.

If you want that users should be able to create their own albums then set the proper permissions on groups page. Allow "Personal gallery" for the group you want to be able to create their own albums.

User will need to click "Create / order my albums" link after login to create a new album.

Note: New albums will be created in user category.
