Here's the link to our web gallery:  http://www.citrailers.com/photos/index.php

For a couple weeks now, I've been unable to upload jpg's - the upload proceeds normally until the program reports "1 uploads were successful".  Then on clicking "Continue", the page returns a message "HTTP 400 - Bad Request" "The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable".

I haven't changed any configuration settings.  Reading the troubleshooter, I still don't know where to verify the permissions settings, but things were working fine until recently.

Hey, you know what I've noticed about you "Dev Team Members" on this "Support Forum", you have no tolerance for folks that don't know what half the vernacular in your troubleshooters and FAQs even mean.  You guys talk in code half the time.  I guess as the unskilled users we shouldn't even be using Coppermine, much less asking for help on your Support page.  I've spent two hours reading posts and FAQs trying to decipher how to fix the problem.  No luck.  Hence my post.

If YOU had READ my post, you'd have noticed that I DID ATTEMPT to follow the instructions, even to Googling "Unix file permissions" etc., but I guess I am just dense, because I don't know how to get to the right place to update or even check 770 or 755, in fact I don't even know what the h*ll CHMOD is or how to execute it.

Have fun in your little world.

I'll go back to mine where people treat each other with respect and patience.

another happy camper who read the docs before shouting at us: CHMODing is not a substantial part of coppermine, it's a technique needed to know when running your own web page. The tutorial says to post a link to your page and a non-admin test user account. Not too technical imo. Coppermine is meant for people who run a website of their own and know the basics.

Although you probably won't, I suggest reading http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

I'm glad to know what you think of me, it confirms my view that your little group is another happy parent talking down to the children, or minions, or whatever category you place the lesser experienced users in your virtual reality.  I didn't start shouting at you, it is the other way around -- but in your world I'm sure you can't see that.

And I guess it's my fault that my web host uses Coppermine (presumably it was meant for <them>), which is buggy to the point they threw up their hands and weren't able to help me with the uploading problem.

Tutorial?  Tutorial isn't even mentioned in the FAQs I read, but I guess I should have known there would be one somewhere, and spend another hour surveying your poorly designed and laid out pages to find it.

You're right about one thing, though:  I won't be reading the "smart questions" link ---  all I'd probably get are "smart" answers back.  Have a good one, outta here,

The troubleshooting tutorial I refered to was the one Nibbler told you to read as an initial reply to your question:
If you read the troubleshooter why didn't you do as it suggests ?

Trying to flame us by telling us about "real life" vs. "virtual life" is fine, we like to be shouted at.
Certainly Coppermine isn't meant for you, considering your attitude. Have a good life. Bye. Locking.
