Admin problems with bridge of phpBB-2.0.19 & cpg1.4.2
« on: January 27, 2006, 08:13:25 am »

Both the forum and gallery work fine until I try to bridge them.  Once the bridge is enabled I still have admin rights with the forums but all admin rights in the gallery are lost - it acts as if I am not logged in.

Coppermine install: http://gardenofstone.com/gallery/
Forum install: http://gardenofstone.com/forums
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.2
Forum version: phpBB-2.0.19
Test user account: testuser / test123
BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:      http://gardenofstone.com/forums
Relative path to your BBS's config file:    ../forums/
Use post-based groups?:    1
Cookie prefix:    cpg133

I have followed all the posts I could find on this, made sure the userid's were both at 1 - uploaded new phpbb2018.inc.php and udb_base.inc.php files .....

Any help on this would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Cookie prefix:    cpg133

Cookie prefix should be the prefix used for phpBB, not for cpg (for example phpbb2mysql).

Okay  - so I upgraded to 1.4.3 and changed the cookie (same on the forum is using):

Forum URL:      http://gardenofstone.com/forums
Relative path to your BBS's config file:    ../forums/
Use post-based groups?:    1
Cookie prefix:    phpbb2mysql

However, it still will not let me log into the gallery as the admin user when bridging is enabled.

Any other ideas?

The bridge is not enabled and the test account does not work.

I am able to get in with the test user without problems now -  testuser / test123

The bridge was disabled because I had to do some admin work and couldn't with it enabled - at this point I will leave it enabled so you can look into it further.

Thanks for all of your help so far!!

Just an update - I have had to disabled bridging temporarily so we could gain access - however, please feel free to re-enable it as needed for troubleshooting purposes.

OMG, the testuser account you posted had admin privileges. I created another admin account named gaugau and logged in with it to make the testuser a registered user only. Never post an admin account publicly, I could have used it to ruin your entire site. It's safe to delete the admin account named "gaugau".
The test user account you're suppossed to post should of course be created in your bbs that you're trying to bridge coppermine with (regular user permissions, not an admin account!). That's why you have to enable the bridge manager, not us. I'm not going to look into this in more detail, as you have some reading to do: re-read the bridging instructions extra-carefully and do exactly as suggested there.
