Installatron Install - Cannot get Image Magick of GD to Work
« on: January 31, 2006, 05:26:14 am »

I am trying to install Coppermine through Direct Admin Installatron.  I have been communicating with my web host help desk and they assure me that both Image Magick and GD are installed and functional on the server where I reside.  However, I cannot get either to work on the install.

When I install with the path the recommend (as well as 3 or 4 others they said to try), I get this message every time:
"The installer can not find the '/usr/bin/' directory you have specified for ImageMagick or it does not have permission to access it. Check that your typing is correct and that you have access to the specified directory."

When I leave Image Magick's path blank to utilize GD, I get this message:
"Your installation of PHP does not seem to include the 'GD' graphic library extension and you have not indicated that you want to use ImageMagick. Coppermine has been configured to use GD2 because the automatic GD detection sometimes fail. If GD is installed on your system, the script should work else you will need to install ImageMagick."

Once again, my host has told me that both IM and GD are installed on the servers, and they have suggested I look here for additional help.

Any ideas?
