Directory Structures - Folders --> Categories
« on: January 25, 2006, 10:03:13 am »

Hi there,

Coppermine is great. I just installed and played around a bit. But now, i got a problem.
We have around 50000 pictures sorted in hundreds of categories. At the moment there is a Folder in Filesystem for each categorie, including subdirs/subcategories. What i want to do is a kind of batch upload. I want Coppermine to create categories and albums for itself, using Directory-Structure. I guess the reasons are clear: Uploading the whole structure is easy, but importing theme to coppermine using the included batch-upload is difficult. We have to create all of the categories and albums for oureself and do a batch-upload for each subdirectory. This really is a lot of work and another problem is updating the pictures, wich were updated all couple of month.

Is there actually a way to do it? What about an Plug-In or something? Or haven't i read well?

I gues, i'm not the only one, having large archives in Filesystem-Structure and want to use the great managing-functions of Coppermine, so what about it?

Greetz taz (still impressed by the features implemented yet)
