i want to like disallow downloading of full sized images from certain usergroups and also only peopel who comment on the image can download it..

is this possible?

Anything is possible.  But as of today, I cannot really think of an easy way to accomplish this request, especially by hacking the 1.1.1 codebase.  One of the resident code geeks on the dev team could prove me wrong.

One possible *UGLY* solution could be some sort of advanced .htaccess file, but this would only work under apache/linux.
