upgrade from cpg1.3.X to cpg1.4.3

Hi,

If ever upgrading to coppermine 1.4.3 do I have to start all over again? I'm concerned that I might wipe out the existing data in the process of upgrading.

It's always recommended to backup your files & database before doing anything major.  That being said, the upgrade process is fairly safe & easy to follow.  The documentation (linked in the top menu above) tells you exactly how to upgrade.

when upgrading properly, you won't lose anything.
