Uploading of animated gif in coppermine version 1.3.3
« on: January 11, 2006, 08:32:18 am »

hi,

I have encountered an error while uploading animated gifs. The error message is : Not a GD extension.
If ever upgrading/migrating to coppermine 1.4.2 do I have to start all over again? I'm concerned that I might wipe out the existing data in the process of upgrading.

Thanks.

I really need the response asap. :)

Thanks again.

Anyway you should at least upgrade to cpg1.3.5, or even better to cpg1.4.3 (which comes with built-in GIF support). To add GIF support to cpg1.3.x, read http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=9407.0
However, in all coppermine versions, there's only limited support for animated GIFs, because the image libraries that are used by coppermine (GD or ImageMagick) only have rudimentary support for animated GIFs - static GIFs will work fine though.
