error on line 772

When I have my site set to debug mode I get this error
Notice: Undefined index: user_id /include/functions.inc.php on line 772

Any ideas why, I am also having a problem uploading images into catergories

it's just a notice (merely cosmetical issue), just ignore it of switch debug mode off.
