Ok so I DID rtfm and thought I had followed all the directions about backing up certain files etc...but after I copied all the files and ran the update.php (going from 1.3 to 1.42  I got the following error message:

Warning: main(include/update.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/parkho2/public_html/library/update.php on line 26

Warning: main(include/update.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/parkho2/public_html/library/update.php on line 26

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'include/update.inc.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/parkho2/public_html/library/update.php on line 26

SO I restored from backup and now am up and running with the old 1.3  version....I would really like to update but I must be an idiot.

Help?

Thanks a lot!

You need to upload ALL the files from the 1.4 package to your server before running update.php

Well read the message, you didn't upload 'include/update.inc.php'
