Is there anyway of linking what members upload with the forum. i.e. could there be a total of cover uploads under the total of posts for that member. Just an extra stat for members profiles & or members to see.

Thanks  ;D

Might be a good idea to post what forum software you are using.

You'll need to ask them, I have no access to ipb's source code.

no, you can't. IPB's licence doesn't allow that you give the sources away, and we respect licences.
Why don't you ask this on the IPB support board instead, as we're not experts for IPB?

Then you're using it illegally anyway - but I think you know that already.

Use something like SMF - it's opensource and it has a bridge to Coppermine built in :)

so you were going to give a copy away that isn't even yours? I don't want to have anything to do with this or you. We're open source developers, not pirates nor thieves.

Either pay for your copy or use another bbs software, there are many good free ones around.

Glad i caught wind of that one post throwed in this mess, you say that the bridge is BUILT-IN to SMF, can you offer me some pointers on how to go about blending the 2 together?

Now i already installed Coppermine straight up so i take it i would need to reinstall in another fashion in order to blend it with my SMF forum right?

Appreciate any advice you can supply on this. I am kind of bridgeless at the moment but read where many peeps are satisfied with this type of configurations.

Thanks.

coppermine comes with a SMF bridge, you won't have to do a fresh install, see the docs that comes with coppermine: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg13x/docs/index.htm#integrating

Very interesting.........Now i haven't actually seen this integration and how it appears. Would you also mind another URL showing how this looks integrated?  I do happen to have both SMF and PHPBB but on separate MySQLs and from what i read it is an absolutely must to integrate Coppermine onto the same database for success.

This is really got my attention. I chose Coppermine after turning away from it several times, not that it wasn't a complete unit or other unfavorable opinion but simply because at the time i felt it was probably not much the effort to make use of since i keep several galleries and some in flash that seem sufficient.

But after reviewing a local TV Station that uses Coppermine to display their users images into the gallery, i think that regained enough of my attention to try this, and now i am more interested in it than i thought i would be.

Many thanks.

The demo gallery on this site is bridged to this SMF board.

Very Nice, i see this now. The chief benefit of marrying the two together is that the user membership includes to Coppermine from the bulletin board i think. I know i read where if you try the opposite both pictures and users will drop. So i think i have that straight in my mind. I do appreciate the absolutely swift reactions this forum staff takes to answer topics and posts. I am highly impressed!

I will be careful to review over the next days and week many such topics and also re-read the FAQ to better equip my own attempt to meld these 2 together without serious incident, that is errors of course. But is really comfort to know that help is so close and always speedy to the answer.

Again Thanks.
