Can't add gif and bmp files
« on: November 12, 2005, 06:41:59 pm »

Hi,

Every time I try to add gif and bmp files, it keeps saying that it is not a valid GD extension. Do you know how I can set that up properly so I can add gif and bmp files??

Thanks,

JJ

depends on your GD version. Usually, the error message you get means: you can't use gif with GD. Check the FAQ to see how to find out details about your GD version. You can never use BMP with GD (no version at all), however you can use GIF under certain circumstances (you need to have a GD version that supports GIF and you'll need to apply the gif-hack posted by kegobeer).

Well I guess the GD I have does not support Gif because I get the error message. Thanks for the info. I will look into the FAQ and see what I can do to get it to accept Gif files.
