Changing register_long_arrays = On in php.ini
« on: September 14, 2005, 03:29:59 pm »

Hello,

First off, I have read through just about all threads on this forum, and I was still pressed to post this question, in hopes of someone helping me with my issue:

Scenario:
Using Apache2, PHP5, GD2 enabled, MySQL4.1, on Windows XP Pro workstation. Trying to install and use Coppermine.

Issue:
When I change the value of 'register_long_arrays' to On, save php.ini, restart Apache, even restart the system, and then do phpinfo, the local and master values for this variable remain "Off".

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Please help. And thanks in advance.

Thanks

You are probably editting the wrong file, edit the file mentioned in the phpinfo output. This is not the place to seek support on general server setup issues.

Nibbler, thanks for your quick response.

phpinfo says the file is c:\php\php.ini. That's the file that I'm editing.

I have already searched PHP forums on this issue. Have run all tests and techniques as suggested in this forum. MySQL, Apache and PHP are integrated just fine. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Search your entire system for php.ini - make changes to all of them.  Ideally, you should only have one php.ini, but obviously you have more than one on your system.

Searched the entire system, all drives, this is the only file. I'm stumped. This is a simple modification. I feel embarrased asking about it, but its not working for me. By the way. I have local admin privileges on the box, so this is probably not a rights issue.

I guess I'll try a different system. If you guys have anything else to share, please do so, and thanks for your help.
