Display image in new window

I'm trying to get my gallery to when you click an image(from the thumbnail viewer) to show the image by itself popped up in a new window. Is there anyway to do this?

Also I need a way to display the last ten additions on the homepage like this website: http://www.warofthemagi.com
I tried looking at the mod section here but I'm not a php wiz.
