Rename User gallery
« on: September 13, 2005, 01:50:15 am »

Hello, Can the User gallery be renamed to Member gallery without effecting operations. If so how many places would it have to be changed.

Thanks, We are setting up Coppermine to use on a club site and I would like to rename the gallery.

jowilker,

I never tried this, but I think it can be done simply by searching for this string in your English.php file in the Lang folder.

'user_gal' => 'User Gallery',

Change "User Gallery'  to  'Member Gallery'

Replace the appropriate matching string in any other language file you are using.

The thing that says user gallery is just the category's name/description. It can be changed like any other category name/description.

jowilker,

I stand corrected.  Just follow Nibbler's advice. Rename it the way you would rename any other category.

Thanks, Because it seemed to be the default, I felt I should ask first, before bringing the roof down on my neck.  ;)

The solution found four or five pages deep and it was quite simple after all

The one that says 'this cat.......', is the default users gallery, and cannot be deleted, but it can be renamed, by clicking on the little blue 'e' button in the category page.  You can also hide it, by deleting all albums in it.
