Bridging possible with existing phpbb and cpg?
« on: September 03, 2005, 02:01:14 am »

I´ve been running cpg and a phpbb for a year now but since I won´t be the only one uploading pics anymore I want to bridge em both. Is this possible or will this make me lose data?

you will lose correlation between the pics that already exist in your coppermine gallery and the users who uploaded them. When bridging, coppermine's user management isn't being taken into account any longer, but the one from your bbs. The user IDs from your bbs will differ from the ones that exist in coppermine's user table, that's why there will be a discrepancy. If it's only you who have uploaded to coppermine, nothing seriously wrong will happen. Just enable bridging and see for yourself - you can always go back, disabling bridging with the toggle in include/init.inc.php
It would be the easiest way to give you further details if you did as suggested in the sticky thread on this board: post links and test user accounts.

I just tried the bridge and everything seemed to be ok. THanks for your support and your great cpg!
