Cookie trouble on CPG - IE 6 does not support CPG cookies

Everytime I log in to my coppermine gallery, I get a message saying that my browser (IE 6.0) doesn't support the script cookies. After a 'successful' login I can get to the main page, but all admin options do not respond correctly, I get a "access denied" or similar message. Is there any way I can correct this problem

I can't connect - the site always times out while attempting to contact your IP address.
