picture file size limit
« on: August 18, 2005, 02:53:17 am »

Hi guys

Just got coppermine installed and working

Is there a way to increase the file size limit in coppermine?

Most digital cameras nowadays take pictures around about the 3MB mark.

The php.ini setting for file upload size is 5MB on my installation.

I'd say 95% of people using my gallery system, won't know hoe/be bothered to batch resize sets of hundreds of pictures.

Is there a way to have it so that even if they upload a 3MB file, it then gets resized and stored as a more sensible size, say no greater than 1mb?
So coppermine is doing the resizing for them, but making it completely transparent.

Thanks

Ben

Sweet!!!

I managed to change the file size limit to 3MB which seems to do the trick for the time being.
But obviously there's no need for the 3MB files to be on the webserver. Seeing as GD is resizing them for thumbnails anyway, it may as well resize the main image too.

Thanks for the info
