Problem deleting album
« on: August 15, 2005, 10:17:02 pm »

I am having trouble deleting an album. It tells me:                         Directory 'albums/wallpapers/' is not writable, files can't be deleted.
And when I try to edit it it tells me the same thing only that they can't be edited.
Why?

Because it's not writable. Make it writable (CHMOD) and try again.

You have no directory called albums/wallpapers?

No I don't. ftp stopped working for me so I had to upload them directly to the website.

once pics exist in coppermine's database, you mustn't touch them using FTP. Use coppermine's user interface to delete files. As you didn't do that (you appear to have removed the file/folder manually (using FTP), but the database entry is still there, you have two options:
  • re-create the files/folders as they were before you deleted them, then use coppermine's user interface as suggested
  • Use a tool like phpMyAdmin to directly remove the database entries that point to the deleted files (all caveats apply, create a backup before doing so)

If you can't access your website via FTP, I recommend contacting your webhost for support.
