Member's search and email question
« on: June 09, 2005, 01:21:52 am »

hi,

is there a search function to help search for a member, instead of going through 100 pages. also,
why doesn't there email show with their profile for the admin to see? is there a code for
both of these?

1) We have a "One question per thread" policy you agreed to respect when signing up on this forum.
2) In cpg1.3.x, there's no "search for a user" function. In cpg1.4.x, there will be one. For cpg1.3.x, there has been a hack/mod posted afaik. Please search the board.
3) The admin can see the email address when he clicks "edit" next to a particular user. A regular visitor of your site can't see the email address in a user's profile. This is a deliberate decision the coders of coppermine made to protect the privacy of your users and to prevent email harvesters collecting addresses from your site (i.e. to prevent spam). It's not a good idea to display the email address of your users publicly, but if you must, you can edit profile.php accordingly.
