cannot link to gallery
« on: June 05, 2005, 04:34:17 am »

New to Coppermine.  I've made my first gallery of pics, but I cannot link correctly from my web site to the gallery so the pics can be viewed.  Where is the exact address of where my pics are located so I can make a link?  I am about to delete this program altogether, it should not be this difficult.  Thought I'd ask and see if you could help...
Thank You!

Do you want to link to the page the image is on or the image file itself? I guess you want the image since you should be able to get the page from the address bar. If you use Firefox, you can right-click on images and select copy image location. IE takes more effort but that's not Coppermine's fault. You would need to select Properties, select the image url, then copy with ctrl-C

This is the sit:
I have a few pictures in a gallery.  From my web site, I want to link to those pics so that when someone is viewing my website, they see a slide show.  I have no idea how to do this. I've tried it several ways
If I set up a link from a page on my site, to what address am I linking it to?? I don't want just one image, I want the slide show.

Do you have an example of what you want to show? Please provide a link to a page and point out what you want to do.

okay..

here it is:

www.paddlepony.net/seahorse_pics
(host is Blue Voda, and I got Coppermine through fantastico on the server. I'd give you the address to my photo album, but I have no idea what it is, that's why I'm having trouble!)

On this page there are many pics spread out of seahorses.  I want them all to be a slide show instead...so I uploaded a few pf the pics to my Coppermine, but I don't know what the next step is.  In other words, how do I get the slide show onto my site?
Thanks! ;)

If you don't know where your photo album is, we wouldn't know. I tried to guess it from the common names people use but didn't find the gallery: gallery, photo, photos, cpg, cpg133. If you installed it with Fantastico, it should have asked you the name of the folder where you want to install it. If you don't remember, look at your account folders via FTP. If you still don't know, you can PM me your FTP account login and I'll try to find it for you.

Yes, it helped. :) Here's your gallery: http://www.paddlepony.net/copper/

Here's a link to a slideshow: http://www.paddlepony.net/copper/displayimage.php?album=3&pid=16&slideshow=5000

Was that what you wanted?

When you view an image page like this one: http://www.paddlepony.net/copper/displayimage.php?album=random&cat=0&pos=-16

There is an icon that looks like a director's thing they use for takes. If you hover over it, it should say Slideshow.
