How to send emails automatically?

Hi everyone,

Is there a way the coppermine Gallery can send emails to users whenever one of them (or the administrator) creates an album, or uploads a picture?

I already tried to modify PHP pages, but since I'm new in PHP, I didn't have much success!  :-\\
