How to get only 1 album picture in category?

I know that you can choose to show your album pics in each category, but since I have so many albums in each category I would like to show only 1 thumbnail per category regardless of number of albums in a specific category. Is this possible? If so how do I implement it?

in coppermine config, set "Show first level album thumbnails in categories" to "No" to only show the category (without any albums that exist in it). With the current stable release (cpg1.3.x) you can't have a thumbnail representing a category, but this will be a feature in the next version (cpg1.4.x), so I suggest you wait for this version to be released.
